"Alice in Wonderland 2.0"

On July 20, the Natalka Park in Kyiv once again came to life based on a fairy tale. But this time with a new scale, even more creativity and unpredictable weather. Charity event “Alice in Wonderland 2.0”, organized by the fund “Angels of Tails” with the support of Obolonska Regional State Administration, was a continuation of the first heartwarming story, but with bright updates. And V.O.G DOG SALON team, as well as last time, became an important part of it – despite the downpours, doubts and puddles. This time – even stronger.

Rain. Downpours. But still, the event took place

The weather arranged a real quest – the rain started from the very morning and three times covered the organizers with downpour. Instead of calm preparation – constant running between umbrellas and tents. “We arrived at 16:00, it was still raining, and I doubted to the last whether we could even get up and work. And will the doggies come? Because we are ready, but we need to have someone to do this beauty with,” recalls the director of V.O.G DOG SALON.

But the miracle did happen: closer to 17:00 the sky cleared up a bit – and the open-air salon came to life. The team of groomers laid out 4 workplaces, because this time 7 masters arrived. More hands – more opportunities. And more love for every tail.

Map, quests

This time the organizers decided to add even more interactivity. Each visitor received a special map – four zones. Each zone had its own marker color, its own symbolism and… its minimum amount of donation. The person who passed all four locations, with multicolored markers, could take part in the final drawing of gifts. It was a real quest with goodness at every step.

The gifts for the participants were generous: from BURBUR cosmetics and sweets to certificates for services in the grooming salon chain V.O.G DOG SALON. And those who participated in creative grooming received additional surprises also from our hands.

Colorful ponytails, rhinestones and glitter tattoos

We organized a real beauty show for dogs. We worked non-stop in the grooming zone: here we dyed tails with premium products that wash off easily, used colored hair crayons, applied glitter tattoos, glued rhinestones, tied pigtails and bows, even painted claws with varnish – yes, we had real dog varnish! All in a safe, loving and glittery way.

The story of each Pet that passed through our hands was special. But one symbolic pair was remembered: Ksenia Sila, our groomer, was with her two dogs – Aya and Zlata. Both dogs came to her in a special way: Aya came from a shelter, and Zlata she took after one of the master classes. And these animals literally charmed everyone. They became a symbol of tenderness, trust and beauty of the evening.

Star dating, street tea and paw prints on the palms of your hands

There were also star guests at the celebration. Actor Alexander Popov joined the event, sincerely communicated with visitors and shared his love for animals. Also a real surprise was the singer Dmitry Sysoev – the winner of the “Star Factory”. Despite the rain, near the end he performed a song, making the end of the evening emotional and inspirational. “The rain towards the end didn’t get in the way anymore. On the contrary – it made everything even more fabulous,” the groomers recalled.

Besides grooming, there were other areas: photo zones with costumes, vegan cookies, campotes, and a space where everyone could leave a handprint next to the paw of the Favorite. We liked this art a lot – it’s a memory fixed in paint that preserves the warmth of the moment.

Karina Babko: “A corgi puppy and a bulldog – that was my day”

V.O.G DOG SALON top groomer Karina Babko did not hold back her emotions. “A charity event is a cool thing! The weather added its own charm. It was a pleasure to watch people happily donate to those animals who are less fortunate in life and make their Tails even more attractive,” she shares. The moment when the corgi and the French bulldog met, played together, ran between the puddles and gave the audience real joy was especially memorable.

Karina was struck by how the owners of the animals were ready to experiment: “They departed from the standards, began to paint in bright colors, add glitter, rhinestones, bows. The atmosphere was inspiring. A lot of positive emotions – just to watch the animals live these moments”. And it was really true: in every movement, in every touch one could feel sincerity, care and love.

V.O.G DOG SALON: not just a salon, but a team that does good things

Our team is people who were not afraid to come in the rain, prepared 4 workplaces without the usual conditions, worked outdoors without water, but with tremendous dedication. We painted, decorated, hugged, advised, counseled, gave and received warmth from every guest.

On the day of “Alice in Wonderland 2.0” we were once again convinced: what we do really matters. More people, more creativity, more goodness. And every drop of rain did not hinder, but also became a part of the big fairy tale we created together.

Like last time, the main purpose of the event is to raise funds for the construction of cages for animals rescued from frontline areas. And every hryvnia of donation is another step towards a peaceful life for those who have already suffered.
