Why is grooming a whole profession?
Once upon a time, people just washed dogs in a bucket, and cats were at most brushed out of tangles. It wasn’t called “grooming”, it wasn’t considered a profession. But it was the love for animals and the need for hygiene that became the first step to the emergence of an entire industry. In the twentieth century, with the development of show breeds and appearance standards, the first specialists appeared who knew how a poodle should look like, how to trim a yorkie, how not to spoil the hair structure of a spitz. It was already an art. Over time, groomers became part of the team of veterinarians, stylists, instructors. Now they are a world apart.
A groomer is a person who sees more. Who feels the character of each dog, knows dozens of types of hair, can relieve fear in a puppy, cope with a cat who is afraid of water, or find a common language with an aggressive dog. And now many groomers position themselves as a cat groomer or dog groomer. This is a profession that requires knowledge of anatomy, veterinary medicine, cosmetology, psychology and hygiene. A real groomer – he analyzes the condition of the skin, identifies problems, makes recommendations to the owner and does everything to make the animal feel better, look beautiful and live longer.
So why is it such a sought-after profession today? Because pets have long been family members. People are ready to invest in them more than in themselves. And it is important for them to find not a “master of hair”, but a person who can be trusted with the most precious thing. A groomer is part of trust. Part of the family. And that’s why every good groomer is worth its weight in gold. Professional grooming today is not a part-time job or a hobby. It is a career, a path, a lifestyle. And the best thing is that it can not be built from scratch, even as an adult. If you get to the right place…..
Right place
V.O.G DOG ACADEMY is a starting point for those who want to become the best in the world of grooming. The Academy was founded in Kiev in the darkest time – at the sound of air raid alarms, when the whole world was dying down, and here the doors to a new profession were opening. This start laid the main thing in the foundation of the Academy: endurance, strength, faith in the profession and deep love for animals. July 11 was exactly three years since the Academy was reborn practically from scratch.
What distinguishes V.O.G DOG ACADEMY from any other training? First of all, there is no “theory for theory’s sake” – everything goes straight into practice. Students work with real clients, with real dogs, in real salons, not on mannequins. It is not imitation – it is real immersion. V.O.G DOG SALON becomes a living workshop where every hand learns, every heart opens, and every experience is a step towards confidence.
The Academy does not teach “grooming in general” – it trains masters who understand the peculiarities of each breed. Here they lay out pug grooming and Jack Russell stripping, spitz skin care and creative poodle haircutting. They teach to listen, see, feel the animal. Here are born those, to whom the clients are booked for a month in advance.
Each student has access to equipment, cosmetics, tools, modern knowledge base, professional mentoring. The groups are small – there is enough attention to each and everyone. And who came from far away – will receive free accommodation. And most importantly: after the course you are not left alone. You are supported, recommended, helped to find a job or start your own business.
The Academy lives to make sure that female graduates don’t just come out with an identity. So that they can proudly say:
“I’m a groomer. And I went to V.O.G DOG ACADEMY.” And that’s what happens. Our graduates are our best references and examples of what you can become if you achieve your goal with confidence.
We have a place where the profession comes to life. Where dreams take shape. And where every love for animals becomes a life’s work.
