Funny story or important lesson?

We love dogs. For their character, sincerity and even for those moments that make us blush. Recently, a funny (but instructive!) incident happened in one of our salons: an adorable spitz couldn’t help himself and did the “big thing”… right on the table while the groomer was coloring him. He looked at me with eyes like he wanted to say, “Sorry, but you didn’t walk me!”

We don’t blame our ponytail clients – after all, it’s nature. But we want to share how to avoid these moments so that grooming is comfortable for the dog, the groomer, and you.

What NOT to do and why it happens even to well-mannered animals:

  1. Missed walks. If your dog hasn’t gone to the bathroom before grooming, there’s a good chance he will do so at the salon. Stress, new odors, and the noise of machines all take their toll on the body.

  2. Fresh Feeding. If your dog has eaten before the procedure, especially something new, greasy or high in fiber – don’t be surprised by surprises.

  3. Excitement. Some animals are very emotional. Even a routine trip to the salon can cause them to have a “body reaction.”

So how do you properly prepare your dog for grooming?

🐾 Take your dog for a walk 1-1.5 hours before the appointment. Give your dog a chance to do his business in peace. Don’t rush it – it’s better to walk a little longer.

🍽 D on’t feed 3-4 hours before grooming. This will reduce the risk of nausea, vomiting or “other” surprises.

🧘‍♀️ Stay calm. Animals are very good at reading their owner’s moods. If you are worried, they are worried too. And excitement + full stomach = you know.

📋 Tell the master about the peculiarities. If your dog has a sensitive stomach or has a history of nervousness – give us a heads up. We will take care of comfortable conditions.

The upshot of this flavorful situation 😄

Yes, dogs are like children. And even the best of them can find themselves in an awkward situation. But with a little preparation, your grooming appointment will go perfectly! And our team, as always, will meet you with understanding and love 💛
