  • “Kennel” – the face, paws, and tail are trimmed with clippers, and the fur length on the body is also adjusted with clippers, as are the transitions from the body to the paws. This results in a smooth form without unevenness.
  • “Continental” or “Lion” – a classic haircut based on varying fur lengths on different body parts. Pompons on the legs, hips, and tail give the poodle a classic look, making it resemble a lion. This haircut is often chosen for show preparation.
  • “Modern” or “Teddy Bear” – the fur on the body is trimmed short, while it’s longer on the legs, the so-called “pants.” Longer fur is also left on the head, forming a crown. The “Modern” has variations, such as trimming the fur on the legs to zero.
  • “English Saddle” – there’s also a variation called the Anglo-Saxon. The fur is trimmed short on the chest and legs, and left longer on the body, neck, head, and tail, resembling a saddle. An elegant haircut requiring great skill from the groomer.
  • “Bichon” – styled after the Bichon Frise breed, performed with scissors, giving a round shape to the legs and head, while the body shape remains as in the “Puppy” cut. Expertly done, it can even fool breed connoisseurs – making the poodle resemble a Bichon Frise.
  • “Puppy Clip” – a haircut for puppies. The fur is only trimmed on the face, and the rest is cut to the length desired by the owner; there’s no standard length.
  • “Korean” – based on the “Teddy Bear” cut: the fur on the face is trimmed in a special way, making the dog resemble a Teddy Bear. By standard, the fur should not be shorter than 2.5 cm, but longer is allowed. The fur on the head can also be left longer than on the body, but the transition should be smoothed out.
